I grew up in a very big Italian family where cooking was the past time that brought everyone together. My love and passion for cooking started when I was a little squirt standing on a kitchen chair backed up against the counter, wrapped in an apron so long it touched my toes, as I helped my mother and grandfather make the Sunday feast of spaghetti and meatballs for the rest of the family. I learned from the best, as my grandparents came straight off of the boat from Italy, which makes me a 3rd generation Sicilian immigrant. Therefore, I got to taste what true Italian cooking was, how it smelled, and all of the stories that came along with it. I grew up where summers were filled with the beautiful smell of basil pouring in through the windows from our garden outside. Biting into homegrown tomatoes like they were apples, as the juice ran down my arms like a slip-n-slide. Sunday sauce was made fresh every week, with enough joy and anticipation to fill 10 energizer bunnies. It wasn't the food as much as the family that was gathered together on Sunday that made these memories special, the food was just the icing on the cake. Those memories are the golden core to my inspiration of cooking.
Now I find myself in perfect harmony of my passion for cooking and sharing the love, stories, and memories with my own family. I married my college sweetheart, and together we have 3 beautiful daughters. As many mommies would agree, the true challenge that keeps me on my toes day in and day out is finding speedy, easy meals that can win the heart of my youngest, pickiest eater as well as the sophisticated pallet of my hubbie. Well, to all of the web readers, researchers, and workers out there… this is the spot where I spill all of my "magic beans" that I have collected over the years. You will find that my meals are quite simple, yet still pack the punch of flavor and fun.
All my recipes are completely from the heart, and memory ;) I have the hardest time slowing down and creating the exact measurements of my ingredients, because, you know, it is just, "a little of this, a pinch of that, a sprinkle of those," but I do try my best to write it all out! ;) Although, any good chef goes out into the world to get inspiration for their new recipes, and I am no different. Pinterest is my go-to online tool, I absolutely love it! Anything and everything I ever needed is all in one spot :) If you want to follow me on Pinterest click HERE. And what is better than watching other brilliant chefs do what they do best? I love to spend little snippets of my free time watching my favorites: Paula Deen, Bobby Flay, Ina Garten... :) If there is anything I enjoy more than cooking up my favorite dishes, it is sharing some laughs :) I hope to get a few giggles out of you as you watch my little cooking videos or scroll through my recipes.
Thanks for stopping by!
